How to Care for Your Wedding Veil
Modern care for a timeless piece
A wedding veil is designed to feel effortless — light, fluid, and barely there.
Caring for it should feel the same.
With a few considered steps, your veil will hold its shape, softness, and movement from the moment it arrives to the day you wear it.

1. Let it settle
Your veil may arrive with soft creases from packaging — this is completely normal.
Hang it as soon as possible and allow the fabric to fall naturally. Over time, the tulle will begin to relax, restoring its signature fluid drape.
Avoid folding or compressing it further. The less you interfere, the better it will settle.

2. Use steam, not heat
If creases remain, introduce gentle steam.
A handheld steamer or a steamy bathroom will soften the fabric without compromising its structure. Always keep a slight distance — the goal is to release the folds, not saturate the material.
Avoid irons entirely. Direct heat can damage delicate fibres and alter the finish.

3. Store it with intention
Once prepared, your veil should be stored in a way that preserves its shape.
- Gently drape it over a coat hanger
- Keep it away from direct light and humidity
For heavily embellished styles, laying flat in a box can help maintain structure.

4. Handle with care
Veils are delicate by design.
Handle yours lightly — lifting it by the comb and avoiding contact with jewellery or textured fabrics that may catch. Clean hands are essential, especially closer to your wedding day.
These small considerations ensure the finish remains clean and refined.

5. Travelling with your veil
If you’re transporting your veil, keep it protected but not compressed.
Fold it loosely and place it in a structured box or garment bag. Once you arrive, remove it promptly and allow it to hang and settle again.
Time and space will do most of the work.
6. On the day
Your veil should feel like a natural extension of your look.
Place it once your hair and styling are complete. Allow it to fall into position without over-adjusting — its movement is designed to be effortless.

7. After the wedding
After your celebration, your veil can be preserved as a keepsake.
Have it professionally cleaned if needed, then store it in acid-free tissue within a breathable box. Keep it somewhere cool and dry to maintain its condition over time.
